About UsFounded on Saturday, January 21 st , 2012 on the campus of Morgan State University, Females United to Uplift, Reshape, & Educate (F.U.T.U.R.E) has always strived to impact the lives of those on campus as well as in the surrounding community. As former members of the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), Morgan State University Chapter, Torkwase Green and other former members worked diligently to create and mold the organization. They were aware of the importance of uniting collegiate women to not only support each other, but impact the lives of those in the Baltimore community. F.U.T.U.R.E was cultivated to address that importance while creating the space for a new type of comradery amongst women who are willing to provide service to the community.

Who We Are |
Our colors are yellow and silver (or heather grey). Yellow represents new beginnings, while silver represents the transformation of energy. Silver is considered to be lunar and harmonious, a symbol of femininity, and of sophistication. We “Cross It Right” because the ladies of the "Y" or YWCA were known to flash a “peace” sign when representing their organization. The former members recognized the significance of their previous organization and
its role in what would become F.U.T.U.R.E. So they created a hand sign/symbol that would recognize the past and represent their crossing into the FUTURE, ultimately linking the two organizations. The middle finger or the back crossed finger represents the “Y” because it is in the past (behind). The index finger is F.U.T.U.R.E. representing moving forward. |
Our History |
During our first semester as an active organization, F.U.T.U.R.E. received a generous
amount of awards for its dedication to conducting community service activities. Although only active on campus for a semester we were awarded a 1st place award for in the Student Organization Summit (SOS) awards. We also received an award for completing 233 community service hours without reusing hours from the YWCA and we were awarded 2nd place at the"Stomp on HIV" showcase. From its humble beginnings in 2012 till now, F.U.T.U.R.E continues to welcome new members and build a genuine bond with one another through helping our community and abiding by our mission by any means necessary. |
